No EMA or BfArM authorization. Approved in the US in 2007 as Nuvigil (Cephalon) but never submitted in the EU. Indian generics (Waklert, Artvigil) are widely sold internationally but not authorized in Germany.

Doping (WADA) status

Prescription reality

No standard prescription pathway exists in Germany. A physician could in theory request a named-patient import under §73(3) AMG from a foreign pharmacy, but this is rarely used and difficult to justify when racemic modafinil (Vigil) is authorized for the same indication.

Not realistic — no GMP raw material supply, no clinical justification given Vigil is available.

Research-use legal basis

Not commonly sold as a research chemical. Most armodafinil reaching Germany is finished tablets (Waklert, Artvigil) intended for human use, which falls under AMG.

Import & customs in Germany

No authorized armodafinil product exists anywhere in the EU. Intra-EU mail-order is therefore not a legitimate route.

Non-EU personal import

Prohibited under §73 AMG. Indian-origin tablets are routinely seized by Zoll. Personal travel-necessity exemption could in theory apply to a traveller carrying a foreign prescription supply, but this is narrow.
